DIRECTIONS FOR USE ON AERIAL STRAND
1. Use normal safety guidelines for placing a ladder against the strand. If ladder hooks are not used, extend the fly section approximately three (3) feet above the strand (usually 2 rungs). When using ladder hooks, place the hooks on the strand. (When using strand hooks, the following step by step procedure is the same.)
2. Ascend ladder to a point where your head is strand high.
3. Place one of the "S" hooks and its connecting strap around a side rail and under a rung two rungs below the strand. Route "S" hook from behind to front of rail. Insert "S" hook into 1" hook loop at the end of the connecting strap. This forms a loop around the side rail.
(See Figure #1)
4. Wrap strap over top and around strand twice. Route across face of ladder and repeat the two wraps under and around the strand on the opposite side. (See Figure #2)
5. Bring loose strap end down to the previously hooked rung, place remaining "S" hook and strap around side rail in the same manner as the first "S" hook and strap. (See Figure #3)
6. Now use the two pull straps to tighten (upwards) toward the strand until both ends are taut between ladder and strand. (See Figure #3)

TO RELEASE
Depress quick release buckles and pull through enough strap to permit removing the "S" hook from the loops. Unwrap strap from strand and replace in carrying case.

NOTES
A. Periodic inspections are recommended.
B. Store SKY-HOOK in carrying case to prevent weathering.
C. Protect webbing from sharp edges.
D. Replace SKY-HOOK if webbing is cut or shows signs of excess wear.
E. SKY-HOOK is a ladder safety strap designed to secure an extension ladder against an aerial strand or pole and is not intended for other uses.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE AS A TOP.TIE
1. Position the ladder against the pole at the proper angle on safe footing. If you have a Safe-Tie (ladder strap for securing ladder to pole on the ground) follow instructions and use it to secure the ladder.
2. Secure the Top-Tie pouch to your belt. Carefully climb the ladder until your head is parallel with the top rung.
3. Leaning into the ladder and pole, remove your Top-Tie from the pouch. Place one of the "S" hooks and its connecting straps around a siderail and under a rung two or three rungs below the top rung. Insert "S" hook into the 1" hook loop at the end of the connecting strap. This forms a loop around the siderail. (Step 1)
4. Still leaning into the ladder and pole using both hands, loop the strap around the pole one and one-half times. (Step 2)
5. Place remaining "S" hook and strap around siderail in the same manner as the first "" hook and strap (See Step 1)
6. The final step is to grasp the loose (adjustable) end of each buckle strap and push towards the pole until both straps are snug. The entire Top-Tie should now be sufficiently snug and secure to prevent ladder twist or lateral slide. (Step 3)

TO REMOVE TOP-TIE
Depress Quick-Release buckles and pull through enough slack to permit removing "S" hooks from the loops. Unwind and replace in the belt mounted carrying case.
